‘On the Christian demand to always forgive’ a reflection by Tony Sargeant

Standard

It is true that the inability to forgive, the inability to let go and ‘move on’ may cripple and destroy us as individuals.

That destruction may be seen in a negative light the consequence of a failure to be truly and fully Christian – “Father forgive them for they know not what they do”

Nonetheless it may be the only True response in the face of great evil and suffering – it may lead to our own destruction – but being destroyed may be the only thing we can do to bear witness to the seriousness of what has befallen us.
