Chive Flowers make a lovely garnish on many dishes

Standard

We have lots of chives flowers in the garden at the moment – they are very attractive in their own right in the flower beds but the purple florets also make a very pretty garnish on many food dishes. The photograph of the chive flower was taken by Tony on the 2nd June 2015. The supper dish was home made quiche ,a mixed salad, and potato salad infused with wild garlic leaves from the nearby hedgerows, all garnished with the pretty purple chive florets.

Tony, prompts from Facebook concerning your prolific postings produce persuasive and pleasurable results. I recall bees on your flowers last year, and have been converted to chives as a plant on display in our garden at Beaufort. I hope that I get the chance on our next visit to garnish something nice as you suggest.
    Love to you & Eileen,
    Peter

    • Hello Peter, lovely to hear from you – hope we might see you soon – are you in France for Easter I wonder. Here the last post is extolling the wonder of wild garlic – grows everywhere around here in sheltered hedgerows – not really garlic, it is the leaves that have a delicate garlic flavour. Love to you and Angela – we havent forgotten your ‘garage problem’
